• We are looking to appoint a Deputy Club Safeguarding Officer to support Club Safeguarding Officer (CSO) Dan Pedley and the KCC committee to ensure that Kibworth CC remains a safe and welcoming place for all, particularly children and vulnerable adults.

• The Club Safeguarding Officer now has full time employment with The Cricket Regulator, who oversee Discipline and Safeguarding in Cricket, so there may be occasions when the CSO’s day job conflicts with the Safeguarding work at KCC.

• It is best practice for larger clubs to have a Deputy Club Safeguarding Officer to cover in the absence of the CSO.

• The role of the CSO is to ensure the appropriate policies and procedures are in place and that everyone in regulated activity (captains, vice captains, coaches, umpires, age group managers and junior supervisors) are appropriately vetted (by an ECB DBS check) and to be the go to person in the event anyone has concerns about a safeguarding issue.

• The post holder will attend two courses to get qualified which will equip them for the role, and will be guided and supported by the Club Safeguarding Officer

• This is not likely to be an onerous role but is a great opportunity for someone looking to support the club and its young cricketers and young officials.
